How maternity leave entitlement is estimated

MOM states that eligible working mothers may receive 16 weeks of Government-Paid Maternity Leave for a Singapore citizen child, or 12 weeks of maternity leave under the Employment Act depending on citizenship and service criteria.

Worked examples

First or second citizen child

16 weeks entitlement, with last 8 weeks reimbursable subject to caps.

Third or later citizen child

All 16 weeks may be reimbursable subject to caps.

Non-citizen child
