What this tool does
Screenshot to calendar converts visible event facts in an image into structured calendar fields: title, date, time, location, notes, confidence, and warnings. It is a preparation tool, not an automatic calendar writer. You stay in control of the final import.
Source basisAdapted from the private `hthx1981/screenshot-to-calendar` iOS app at commit `0a1eb76`.OpenAI model capability checked against official OpenAI API docs on 2026-07-06.
Good screenshots
- Show the full date and time area, not only the event title.
- Keep the screenshot upright and readable.
- Add a context note when the screenshot uses school terms, local abbreviations, or a timezone.
- Use one event list or one calendar page per extraction for cleaner results.
Output fields
- Event title, start date, start time, end date, and end time.
- All-day state, timezone, location, and notes.
- Confidence and warnings for fields that should be checked.
- .ics file download and Google Calendar prefill link.
Examples
School timetable screenshotExtract each row with a visible date, split separate classes or sessions, then review all-day versus timed entries.
Email invitationCapture event title, date, start time, venue, and notes from a forwarded invite or booking confirmation.
Event flyerTurn visible event details into a reviewable event card before downloading an .ics file.
Limits
- The screenshot must visibly contain the event date or time. The tool will not use today as a fallback date.
- Ambiguous dates, repeated rows, unclear timezones, and cropped screenshots still need human review.
- This public tool does not store files, submit forms, write to your calendar, or create CapySuite tenant records.
- Only image screenshots are supported in this web launch. PDF page selection remains outside this first public route.
Privacy and safety
- Do not upload screenshots containing secrets, identity documents, or unrelated private data.
- The public tool sends the image to OpenAI for extraction and returns the structured result.
- CapySuite does not persist the image or extracted events from this public route.
- Always verify dates before importing into a real calendar.
FAQ
Can it read PDFs?
This web route accepts image screenshots first. PDF page selection is a separate workflow and is not part of this launch.
Does it replace checking my calendar?
No. It speeds up extraction, but calendar imports are consequential. Review every date, time, and title first.
Why does it ask for timezone?
Screenshots often omit timezone. The timezone field keeps exports predictable when the source image does not name one.
